After years of working in the jerky industry Joshua Dee Wong, Founder and Creator of Uncle Wong Jerky, wondered why most of the products on market weren’t fresh or tasty. Same flavor profiles with large amounts of nitrates, salt and corn syrup. It wasn’t right. It wasn’t the values that AKong, his grandfather, Master Chef Yu Hsi-Lin and older brother figure Frank Lao taught him. The secret to a great dish is to cook for family.
Inspired, Josh compiled local San Diego flavors, crispier textures and wholesome goodness for a better jerky.
